Iceley Cannon

PETERSBURG — Iceley Cannon, 2, gained her wings and went to be with her grandpa and uncle at 3:14 p.m., Tuesday at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born at Nortons Hospital in Louisville, Ky. on May 31, 2010, to Joe and Bridget (Maxwell) Cannon. Iceley had spent the past 10 weeks at Riley’s Childrens Hospital in Indianapolis after open heart surgery in September and most recently at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh to be closer to her family. Iceley will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for her courageous fight, her love of live, and participating in pageants by all those who knew her. She was a member of the Petersburg Free Methodist Church, the Smile on Downs Syndrome of Evansville, the Downs Syndrome Organization of Louisville, the Mended Little Hearts of Evansville, the Honeybees Youth Group, Petersburg, and participated in the “Buddy Walk” in Evansville. Iceley’s motto she lived by was “Live Life to the Fullest” Surviving are her parents, Joe and Bridget Cannon of Petersburg; three sisters, Brieanna Smith of Vincennes, Jaccie and Kayla Cannon, at home; two brothers, Layne and Leevi Cannon, at home; grandmother, Anita Maxwell of Otwell; great-grandfather, Charles Maxwell Jr. of Washington; paternal grandparents, Ed and Mary Ann Cannon of Petersburg; uncle, Brian Maxwell and spouse Jada of Otwell; aunts, Amy Moody of Petersburg and Leslie Dannner of Laurelville, Ohio; cousins, Braden and Chase Maxwell of Otwell, Ashley Greene of Ohio, Jamie Moody of Petersburg, Taylor, and Marissa Waugh of Petersburg, Randi, Cara Danner of Laurelville. Preceding Iceley in death is her grandfather Charles Eugene Maxwell; great-grandparents Doyle and Imel Braun; great-grandmother Gladys Kathleen Maxwell; great-grandparents Joseph and Beulah Zehner; great-grandparents, Randal and Ada Cannon; uncles Randal K. Cannon and Bradley Maxwell; aunts Lori Ann and Cori Ann Cannon. Funeral services for Iceley Cannon will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Petersburg Free Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the Otwell Cemetery. Pastor Mark Schlechty will officiate. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and also from 9 a.m. to the 11 a.m. service time at the church on Saturday. Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
