WASHINGTON — Vera Irene Wright Price was born April 29, 1919, in Los Angeles, Calif., and passed away Friday in Washington at the age of 93. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Vicki Wright of Washington, and her daughter Rebecca Jo Tickett of Beulah, N.D. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews located throughout the United States. Vera attended Biola College after high school and nurse’s training at Los Angeles County Hospital where she graduated as a registered nurse in 1945. Mildred Perles of New York became her roommate in nurse’s training and Vera helped her to accept the Lord as her Savior. Then Mildred helped Vera’s older brother, Richard Murdock, to accept the Lord. Soon they were happily married and had two beautiful children, Francie and Larry. Vera served throughout her life as a registered nurse and several years as a missionary in Africa. She retired as a school nurse at the age of 78. In April of 2005, Vera moved from California to Washington and began attending New Hope Christian Church. She had surgery in June 2005 to remove a cancerous growth on her colon with no further treament necessary. She also had successful triple-bypass heart surgery in 2008 at the young age of 89. Vera had three husbands during her lifetime, which all passed before her. She will be laid to rest next to her third husband, Frank Price, in a private ceremony in Salida, Colo.
