FORT WAYNE — Harvey C. Maymon, 90, passed away Wednesday at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Mt. Vernon, Ill., Harvey worked as a owner of a Western Auto Hardware Store in Carrollton, Ill., and was an ordained minister and preached on occasion at Cantabury Nursing Home while he was a resident in the assisted living apartments. While working for Mackey’s Hardware in Bicknell, he delivered fasteners, bolts, nuts and hardware throughout Daviess County. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Harvey was preceded in death by his wife Mary Etta Maymon; parents, Harvey C. and Blanche A. Maymon; daughter, Alexis Sue Maymon and son, David Maymon. The funeral service is Sunday, 3 p.m., at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Rev. LaRay Williams will officiate. Calling will be Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery Company Inc., Mt. Carmel, Ill. Memorials may be made to the Mission Church of Fort Wayne. Born Sept. 30, 1935, in Daviess, she was the daughter of Arlan V. and Essie (Hardesty) Nolley. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1953 and retired as a bookkeeper from McDonald Chevrolet in Washington after 43 years of service. -
