LOOGOOTEE — Nathan J. Schuetz, 19, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday in an auto accident in southern Martin County. Born Dec. 23, 1993, in Washington, he was the son of Jarrett and Becky (Bennett) Schuetz. He was a 2012 graduate of Loogootee High School and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Loogootee. Nathan enjoyed fishing and playing paintball, baseball and football. He is survived by his father, Jarrett Schuetz of Washington; his mother and stepfather, Becky and Francis Whitworth of Loogootee; one sister, Emily Whitworth at home; two brothers, Nick Schuetz of Loogootee, and Jon Whitworth at home; his paternal grandparents, Jerry and Joyce (Copple) Schuetz of Washington; his maternal grandmother, Mary Lou (Weibel) Zimmerman of Washington; along with several aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bernard Bennett; and his maternal stepgrandfather, Jerry Zimmerman. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Private graveside services will be conducted at a later date.
