WASHINGTON — Mike Evans, 58, of Washington, died at 2:21 p.m. Monday at Daviess Community Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1951, in Daviess County, he was the son of Floyd B. and Mary Lucille (Bowman) Evans. He was a heavy equipment operator for the city of Washington for 34 years and was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He is survived by a son, Daniel Michael Evans of Vincennes; daughters, Billie Jo Evans of Ohio, Laura Nichole Chestnut of Fowler, and Brooke Michelle Evans of Washington; stepdaughters, Jamie Lynn (Brian) Austin of Washington; stepson, Jesse Allen Rowell of Washington; eight grandchildren; sisters, Jo Faith of Solsberry and Bonnie Batchelor of Washington; and brothers, Terry Evans and Jimmy Evans of Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Vera Gross and Ginger Evans; and brother, Richard Evans. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel, with Rev. Scott Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with an Eagles memorial service at 7 p.m. (Aug. 30, 2010)
