WASHINGTON —
CANNELBURG – Harold J. Seal, 80, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Friday at Eastgate Manor.
Born March 18, 1932, in Daviess County, he was the son of William Hank and Mary Agnes (Haag) Seal. He attended Cannelburg School and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He retired from Jasper Corporation and enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Walker) Seal, whom he married April 23, 1955; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Laurie Seal, Jerry and Diane Seal, and Lee and Misty Seal, all of Cannelburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Scott Smith of Bloomfield, Rita and David Prewett of Washington, and Linda and Charlie Rasche of Dubois; a brother, Edward Seal of Dubois; two sisters, Margie Arvin of Loogootee and Mary Ruth Walker of Washington; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Seal; two sisters, Jean Miller and Bernice Downey; and one brother, William “Billy” Seal.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Jim Koressel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Ed Lee Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
