Mary Wagler

WASHINGTON — Mary Wagler, 66, of Washington, went to be with the Lord while in the presence of her loving husband and family Thursday at the Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.

Born April 21, 1946, she was the daughter of Henry and Anna Graber. She completed her education at Montgomery schools and worked at Loogootee Textile and RCA in Bloomington. She found the most joy working on the farm with her husband. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, baking and the outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren.

She will most fondly be remembered by her grandchildren for her candy drawer that was always filled with their favorite sweets. Mary blessed others with a servant’s heart. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who rejoice in knowing that she is now with our Heavenly Father enjoying eternal peace and everlasting joy beyond measure.

She is survived by her loving husband, Verlin Wagler; beloved daughters, Renee (Brant) Ackerman and Kim (Pete) Parsons, all of Washington; her precious grandchildren, Mikaela, Maura, Noah, Azeria and Analiese Ackerman, and Simon, Elijah and Elire Parsons; her four caring sisters, Elizabeth (Homer) Kemp, Rebecca (Marvin) Wagler, Martha (Merv) Wagler and Ann (Loren) Wagler; one caring brother, Amos (Patty) Graber; and one sister-in-law, Lil (Jim) Fuhs. She also was blessed with many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, and a brother, Johnny Graber.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Berea Mennonite Church, officiated by Pastors Keith Meece and Sean Terry. Pastor Ed Graber will officiate a graveside service immediately afterward.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
