MITCHELL — Roy L. Hedrick, 74, passed away Jan. 1 at Waterman Hospital in Tavares, Fla. Born March 4, 1938, in Daviess County, he was the son of Lolan and Helen (Frazo) Hedrick. He was married to Billie Myers. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 14 F. and A.M., Murat Shrine of Indianapolis, American Legion Gillen Post No. 33, and Elks Lodge No. 826. Roy was known by many for his years of service at Stone City Construction Company, North Lawrence Water Corporation, and Pritchett Brothers Construction. He was one of the integral parts in the restoration of the West Baden Springs Hotel and French Lick’s Resort Casino. He is survived by his wife, Billie Hedrick of Mitchell; children, Scott Hedrick of Mitchell, Madonna Parish of Lafayette, Sherry Wade and husband Randall of East Lansing, Mich.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, James Hedrick of Bedford, and Lolan Hedrick of Copperas Cove, Texas. His parents; sisters Edith Traylor, Cora Harris, Ruth Terrell, June Baugh and an infant; and brothers, Robert Hedrick and Donald “Ed” Hedrick, preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by Masonic Lodge No. 14 F. and A.M. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home.
