LOOGOOTEE — Shirley Ellen Courtright, 73, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday at her home. Born Sept. 18, 1939, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Dora and Alberta (Webster) Mattingly. A graduate of Loogootee High School, she had retired from Loogootee Textile. Shirley enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Kevin Gillick of Loogootee; one daughter, Vicki Cramer of Loogootee; three sisters, Dottie Perkins of Bedford, Peggy Jackman of Indianapolis, and Penny Wenzel of Virginia; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Victor Gillick; one son, Mark Gillick; one sister, Mary Ruth Potts; and one great-grandson, Cayden Crisp. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Truelove Cemetery, south of Loogootee. There will be no visitation.
