MARION — Paul William Patterson, 84, passed away at 2:53 p.m. Saturday at Parkvilla LTC in Marion. Born Oct. 26, 1926, in Daviess County, he was the son of Charles and Anna (Wilson) Patterson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served for 23 years as a supply technician for the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the Washington American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann (Embry) Patterson, whom he married June 30, 1951; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Lee and Sharon Patterson of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Ann and Daniel Faith of Washington and Kimberly June and Steve Moody of Warsaw; two grandchildren, Crystal Marie (Eric) Sarver of Bloomington and Matthew William Hellum of Silver Lake; three great-grandchildren, Aleysiah Ann Sarver, Allie Marie Sarver and Zhayne Hellums. He is preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Pat, Martin “Coke” and Donnie Patterson, and two sisters, Mildred Stone and Agnes Harrwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Rev. Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
