WASHINGTON — Helen B. Williams, 102, of Washington, went home to be with the Lord at 3:18 a.m. Sunday at Washington Nursing Center. Born Dec. 20, 1907, she was the daughter of William and Maude (Koontz) Miles. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, R.S.V.P. and the Friendly Club. She volunteered for years at the Washington Nursing Center, helped with the mending, bingo, served refreshments and knitted lap robes. She also knitted booties and hats for the R.S.V.P. program for new babies and quilted quilts for several relatives and friends. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Ralph Williams, whom she married Nov. 30, 1929, died Dec. 1, 1986. In addition to her parents, three brothers, Walter, Martin and William “Bill” Miles, and five sisters, Ann Patterson, Lorene Cannon, Tillie Wildridge, Theresa “Peg” Crowley and Rose Blyth, are also deceased. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. There will be no visitation. Memorial donations may be given to Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 315 N.E. Third St., Washington, IN 47501. Arrangements are being made through Ed Lee Mortuary.
