WASHINGTON —
Mary Maxine Kessler, 80, of Washington, died at 9 a.m. Thursday at Daviess Community Hospital.
Born Dec. 22, 1931, in Gibson County, she was the daughter of Richard and Goldie (Litherland) Barrett. She attended Patoka High School, was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Vincennes and attended Maysville Methodist Church. For 25 years Maxine worked as a babysitter for several children.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Wenning Kessler Sr. of Washington, whom she married Sept. 24, 1948; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Susan and James Carrico of Washington; son and daughter-in-law, William Wenning and Dianna Kessler Jr. of Washington; 11 grandchildren, William W. Kessler III, Jaime Kessler, Kerry Kessler, Kelly Kessler, Amber Kessler, Devin Kessler, Cody Kessler, James Adam Carrico, Zachary Carrico, Gwendolyn Carrico and Brian Carrico; and four great-grandchildren, Kendra Rego, Briley Rego, Alyssa Kessler and Aiden Lark Walker.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; five brothers; and a great-grandchild, William Paul Rego.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Gill Chapel, with the Revs. John DeSanto and Lucia Jones officiating. Burial will be at Sugarland Memory Gardens.
Friends may call between 5 p.m and 7 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday.
Preferred memorials are to the Diabetes Society, St. Jude’s, Higher Bound of Vincennes and Gideon Society.
