WASHINGTON — Doris M. Baker, 87, of Washington, died at 8:12 p.m. Saturday at Hillside Manor. Born Aug. 14, 1925, in Knox County, she was the daughter of Bert and Emma Viola (Potts) Smith. A graduate of Wheatland High School, she was a homemaker and member of Montgomery Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Rick Leighty of Washington, Rhea and Craig Rodby of Rock Springs, Wyo.; eight grandchildren, Brandon Leighty, Stacey Jo Font, Kimberly George, Benjamin Leighty, Jeffrey Kirsch, Kasey Hambrick, Kelli Charkosky and Brody Pancake; one son-in-law, Ron Pancake; many great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, James Wayne Baker, whom she married Dec. 31, 1945, died Oct. 12, 1991. Her parents; a daughter, Vicki Pancake; three brothers, Herman, Roy and Rollo Smith; and three sisters, Louise Smith, Emma Nimnicht and Ruth Davis, are also deceased. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wheatland Cemetery, with Bro. Michael Frances officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being made through Gill Funeral Home.
