WASHINGTON — James A. Neff, 80, of Washington, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Jasper Memorial Hospital. Born May 9, 1932, in Washington, he was the son of O.D. “Dutch” and Audrey (Rollison) Neff. A 1950 graduate of Washington High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran. He owned and operated O.D. Neff Inc., a Buick and Pontiac dealership in Washington. He graduated from General Motors Institute in Flint, Mich., and was a member of the Washington Free Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Kieffner) Neff; two daughters, Nancy A. (Milton) Roberts of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Cheryl J. Neff of Springfield, Ill.; one son, Michael J. Neff of Washington; five grandchildren, Kasey Neff, Reid Neff, Madison Roberts, Morgan Roberts and Alexa Neff; one sister, Nona Oesterle of Arizona; and two nephews. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Free Methodist Church on Troy Road in Washington, with Rev. Wayne Neely officiating. Entombment will be in Sugarland Mausoleum, with military rites conducted by Washington American Legion and V.F.W. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and after 1 p.m. Sunday at Free Methodist Church. Arrangements are being made through Ed Lee Mortuary.
