PLAINFIELD — Donald J. Thompson, 78, passed away Saturday in Indiana University West Hospital. He was born on Dec. 19, 1934, in Milan, to Earl and Katherine Plump Thompson. He married Arvilla Walls on April 19, 1958; she survives. Donald was an U.S. Army veteran. He was a specifications clerk for Uniroyal for 21 years and retired from Allison Transmission in 1999 after 22 years. He and wife attended the Calvary Bible Wesleyan Church in Plainfield. Survivors include his wife, Arvilla Thompson; children, Donna Thompson Briney and husband Bob, Keith Thompson and wife Sarah and Cindy Thompson Pedigo and husband John; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with Rev. Don Delong to officiate a service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
