Lois Evelyn Wade


GOSPORT — Lois Evelyn Wade, 71, formerly of Odon, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday at her home.

She was born on May 16, 1938, in Sullivan County, to the late Arthur and Helen (Buchanan) Woolard.

She married her husband, William “Bill” Wade on Nov. 7, 1953; he survives, living in Gosport.

She also leaves behind four sons; David (Zelta) Wade and Roger (Carrie) Wade, of Gosport, Mike (Terry) Wade of Loogootee and Bennie (Trevada) Wade of Ollitic; three daughters; Mary (Max) Webster and Diane (Gary) Allen, of Odon, and Charlotte (Thomas) Linson of Indianapolis; three sisters, Thelma Turner of Rockville, Debra Graves of Springville and Karen Woolard of Linton; one brother, Leroy Woolard of Bicknell; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one sister, Maxine Woolard; one brother, Orlon Lee Woolard; and one great-grandson, Marlon Richardson.

A homemaker, she worked 24 years for Dearmin and Company in Odon. She was a member of the Indian Prairie Baptist Church in Carlisle and enjoyed flower gardening, her dog, puzzles and playing cards. Her greatest passion was time shared with her family.

A celebration of life service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center, Martinsville, with Rev. Robert Yount to officiate. Graveside rites will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Burns City Cemetery, Burns City.

Friends may visit Friday, Oct. 2nd from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to service Saturday at the funeral home.
