COHOES, N.Y. — Helen Jean (Fields) Dodson, 81, formerly of Washington, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at Eddy Village Nursing Home in Cohoes.
Born July 28, 1928, in Loogootee, she was the daughter of John and Etna (Smith) Fields.
A graduate of Loogootee High School, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by a one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Theresa Dodson of Feura Bush, N.Y.; and three grandsons, Kelly Gene Dodson of Albany, N.Y., R. Eric Dodson of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Travis Ryan Dodson of Albany, N.Y.
Her husband, Bruce Dodson, is deceased. Her parents; one sister, Lela Lee; one brother, Bernard Fields; and two half-brothers, Larry and Jerry Brown, are also deceased.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brocksmith Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
