TERRE HAUTE — Vickie Rae Whitehead, 55, lost a courageous battle with cancer which she had been battling for a year. The battle ended at 3:54 a.m. Tuesday at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Vickie loved yard sales, collecting knick knacks, fishing, camping, horses and anything that involved being outdoors.
Besides being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Vickie also worked as a retail clerk at Walmart.
Waiting for Vickie in heaven is her infant daughter, Angela Diane Whitehead, and father, James Lindsay.
Leaving behind to mourn her passing, but celebrating the contribution to their lives, is her husband, David M. Whitehead; daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie and Travis Brown of Eminence and Christie and Jason Zell of Portage; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Brandy Whitehead of Greencastle; grandchildren, Mackenzie Partin, Kaitlynn Brown and Ethan Brown; mother, Delema Hill Lindsay; sisters, Connie Helm, Janet Zehr and Deborah Birk; and many relatives and friends who will cherish their memory of Vickie.
A celebration of Vickie’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gill Chapel. Friends may visit with the family and offer condolences from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
