Duane Lee Wuertz

Duane Lee Wuertz, 62, of Washington, died Thursday at his residence.

Born Feb. 21, 1947, in Daviess County, he was the son of Eunice Eloise Williams.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1969 and worked at Dave’s Carpet Center for four years and Lowes for two years.

He is survived by his wife, Donna (Huff) Wuertz, whom he married April 21, 2002; a daughter and son-in-law, Stacie (Wuertz) and Toby Kramer of Brownsburg; a son, Chad Wuertz of Indianapolis; two stepdaughters, Sheri Hayden and Sue Clifton, both of Washington; one grandchild, Haley Kramer; stepgrandchildren, Aaron Brower, Jeromy Brower, Kyle Brower, Shannon Scott, Shayna Scott, Tyler Scott, Justin Wuertz, Asleigh Wuertz and Erin Wuertz; two brothers, Ted Williams of Florida and Ed Williams of Evansville; two sisters, Marilyn Williams of Indio, Calif., and Carolyn Riffey of Port Orange, Fla.; and his mother, Eloise Williams of Plainville.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Tom Wuertz, and his stepfather, Harvey Williams.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association.
