Virginia Ruth Dillon Lamb


Virginia Ruth Dillon Lamb, 79, of Washington, died at 6:23 p.m. Monday at her residence.

Born July 4, 1930, in Washington, she was the daughter of George and Edith (Phipps) Dillon.

She worked at Daviess Community Hospital for several years as a CNA. She had attended Vincennes University for two years. She loved spending her spare time quilting.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Wolven of Washington and Cheryl Mandabach of Indianapolis; two sons, David W. Mandabach and John Anthony “Tony” Mandabach, both of Washington; two sisters, Mary Moore and Sally Sult, both of Bloomfield, four brothers, Gene Dillon of Bloomfield, Larry Dillon of Washington, Robert Dillon of Loogootee and Richard Dillon of Utah; two stepsisters, Brenda Like and Linda Houchins, both of Boonville; one stepbrother, Eddy Potts of Washington; 19 grandchildren; 47 seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry “Shag” Mandabach, who died Dec. 31, 1995; one sister, Rose Marie Dillon; four brothers, Jack, Dewey, Nealis and Bill Dillon; one half-sister, Debra McBride; one grandson; and one great-grandson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
