Opal Wahl
Opal Lois Wahl, 92, of Washington, died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday at Prairie Village Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 10, 1917, in Valley Center, Kan., she was the daughter of Alonzo Briggs and Florence Catherine (Lewis) Briggs.
A homemaker and teacher, she loved her family, the children she taught in school and loved the outdoors, flowers and nature. Above all, she loved her parents, and faithfully and lovingly took care of them until their death.
Surivivors include a daughter, Jan Wahl of Washington; a son, Errol and Jill Wahl of Cincinnatti, Ohio; two granddaughters, Megan and Caleb Tameling of Huntsville, Ala., and Caitlin Wahl of Cincinnatti; and two great granddaughters, Myla Grace and Kadence Ava.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank Wahl, whom she married on May 1, 1938. Also preceding in death is an infant son, Wayne Allen Wahl, her parents, a brother and two sisters.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home, the Rev. Lennie Lawrence officiating.
Burial will be in Valley Center, Kan.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Noah “Nick” Graber, 75, went to be with the Lord at 12:22 a.m. Sunday at his residence surrounded by his family. Born May 31, 1935, in Daviess County, he was the son of Nicholas R. and Ida (Graber) Graber.

Helen B. Williams, 102, of Washington, went home to be with the Lord at 3:18 a.m. Sunday at Washington Nursing Center. Born Dec. 20, 1907, she was the daughter of William and Maude (Koontz) Miles.

Kenneth Wayne “Kenny” Roark, 67, died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at his residence. Born Oct. 29, 1942, in Daviess County, he was the son of Ralph W. and Wanda F. (White) Roark.

Marion R. Barber, 89, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at his residence. Born Jan. 23, 1921, in Daviess County, he was the son of Logan W. and Lorena Pearl (Arison) Barber.

Paul William Patterson, 84, passed away at 2:53 p.m. Saturday at Parkvilla LTC in Marion. Born Oct. 26, 1926, in Daviess County, he was the son of Charles and Anna (Wilson) Patterson.
