WASHINGTON — Adele V. Sattler, 92, of Washington and formerly of Petersburg, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at her residence. Born Dec. 11, 1919, in Algiers, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ida (Chew) Sherman. She had owned Jan and Mart’s Cafe in Petersburg for seven years. She is survived by a son, David H. Sattler of Fort Pierce, Fla.; daughters, Janice Grove of Washington, Martha Sutton of Fort Collins, Colo., and Dora (McFarland) Rust of Petersburg; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Henry Sherman, died Aug. 29, 1990. Three brothers, one sister and one great-grandchild are also deceased. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Harris Funeral Home, Petersburg, with Dr. Charles Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery, Petersburg. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
