LINTON — Owen V. Fulford, 85, passed away at 6 a.m. Saturday at Lyons Health and Living Center in Lyons. He was born on Feb. 25, 1928, the son of Fred and Alta LaVerne (Beal) Fulford. He was a United States Army Air Corps World War II veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 22 and a former member of the Masonic Lodge No. 560, both of Linton. Owen married Phyllis Ann (Potter) Fulford on April 20, 1947. Owen retired from NAD Crane where he worked as an electronic engineer. He is survived by his wife, whom he married Feb. 8, 2003, Karen (Fulk) Fulford of Linton; a son, Owen Dennis Fulford (Sue Evans) of Linton; a daughter, Tawni (Fulford) Prudhomme of Linton; three grandsons, Justin Fulford (Margaret Zeh) of Indianapolis, Wade Fulford (Amber) of West Terre Haute, and Joshua Prudhomme (Leah Beebee) of Bloomington; three stepchildren, Melissa Ferguson (James), Shawna English (Kim), and Todd Fulford (Sandra), all of Calvertsville; three stepgrandchildren, Eli and Samantha Carpenter and Cassie Campbell; three brothers, Richard Fulford (Ruby) of Arizona, Ralph Fulford (Carol) of Linton, and Ted Fulford (Linda) of Lyons; four great-grandchildren; and a foster son, James Goodwin of Colorado. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Fulford; his son-in-law, Andrew Prudhomme on Sept. 12, 2012; two infant grandsons; three brothers; his sister; and his parents. Graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Linton at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Pat Kelly officiating. Military honors will be given by the American Legion Post No. 22 of Linton. Contributions can be made to Greene County SAFE Rescue Group through the funeral home. Arrangements are being made by Welch and Cornett Funeral Home in Linton. There will be no visitation.
