WASHINGTON — Shelba J. Wilkes, 75, of Washington, died at 1 a.m. Sunday at Eastgate Manor. Born Feb. 24, 1938, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy (Ashby) Barrett. She was a homemaker and an Eagles Auxiliary trustee. She is survived by a cousin, Terry (Sue) Williams of Bloomington; longtime friend, Rick Harsha; two stepchildren; and several stepgrandchildren. Her husband, Paul H. Wilkes, died Oct. 13, 1988. One daughter, Paula Denise Like, and one sister, Carol Sue Barrett, are also deceased. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gill Funeral Home, with Bro. Steve Dayton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Vincennes. Visitation is after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral.
