WASHINGTON — Charles F. Gordon, 83, of Washington, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday. Born Aug. 4, 1928, in Washington, he was the son of Joseph E. and Lillian Regina (Faust) Gordon. He was a 1944 graduate of Washington Catholic High School. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Washington American Legion and the Eagles Lodge. He was the owner and operator of the Tuxedo tavern. He loved sports and spending time in the summer at Ellis Park. He is survived by one daughter, Angie Lewandowski of Washington; one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Lynn Gordon of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Angie Gordon, Katie Gordon and Jonas Lewandowski; and one brother, John Gordon of Washington. His wife, Doris A. (McEvilly) Gordon, whom he married Oct. 25, 1959, died Jan. 9, 1990. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Stella Dobyns. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Rev. Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, with a wake service at 4:30 p.m., at Ed Lee Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to Washington Catholic Education Endowment, P.O.
