SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Julia Ruth Funcannon, 101, formerly of Elnora, died Thursday at 2:10 a.m. at her residence.
She was born Jan. 12, 1909, in Elnora, the daughter of Robert J. and Nan S. (Ketchum) Orr. She married Martin Doral Funcannon.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Elnora Christian Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Don (Barbara) Sims, South Bend; Shirley Edmondson, Elnora and Mrs. Scott (Janet “Penny”) Fullmer, Columbus, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Sharon Rohr, Steve Sims, Donna Kay Neff, Jeff Edmondson, Vance Edmondson, Penny (Shellie) Higgs, Angela Bell, Tony McClean, Gina Hoover and Barbara Ann Rousculp; 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin, on Sept. 26, 1977; an infant daughter, Sylvia Ruth Funcannon and a brother, Milton Orr.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Elnora Christian Church, with burial following in the Plainville Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Smith will officiate.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Sunday until the time of the service. Arrangements are being made through the Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home.
