CORNETTSVILLE — Harriet A. Myers, known to friends as “Shep,” 75, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday at her home surrounded by family.
Born Dec. 27, 1934, in Bicknell, she was the daughter of Charles and Susan (Pow) Shepherd.
A graduate of Bicknell High School, she was a nurse’s aide at Daviess County Hospital for eight years. She loved to play bunco and to bowl, both of which she did for more than 40 years. She also loved to draw.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Myers, whom she married Jan. 6, 1962; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Christine Myers of Washington; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Michael Taylor of Washington; three grandsons, Chance Taylor and twin brothers Benjamin and Alexander Myers; one granddaughter, Shelby Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Akers, Margaret Foster and Helen Swartz; and two brothers, Charles and Edwin.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel, with Rev. Keith Chanley officiating. Entombment will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
