ODON — Lucille A. Skomp, 92, died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born May 19, 1920, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of William and Alma Rebecca (Woodsmall) Arney. A homemaker, she was a member of First Christian Church in Odon. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Sue (Hugh) Alexander of Odon; a son, William C. (Barbara) Skomp of Bloomfield; six grandchildren, Anita and Gary Gingerich, James and Stacey Skomp, Sherry and Chris Hudson, Chris and Tom Wittmer, Michael and Ronna Alexander and Daniel and Sue Alexander; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Mary Galloway of Indianapolis. Her husband, William K. Skomp, whom she married Aug. 27, 1939, died March 5, 2006. Her parents; seven brothers, Ermel, Hermel, Lester, Emerson, Ira, Floyd and Wilber Arney; and two sisters, Mildred and Doris Arney, are also deceased. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walnut Hill Cemetery, with Bros. Richard Crabtree and Richard Smith officiating. There will be no calling. Arrangements are being made through Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home.
