THE VILLAGES, Fla. — Norma Lee (Davis) Talarek died Tuesday in Florida. Born Jan. 16, 1939, in Washington, she was the daughter of George and Mildred Davis. She graduated from Washington High School and from Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree. She taught at Harding School in Hammond and left the teaching profession to raise her children. Later she returned to teaching at Kolling School in St. John. Norma attended Village View Community Church in Summerfield, Fla. She loved gardening, singing and volunteering at Wildwood Soup Kitchen, but her greatest joy was love of God and her family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Eugene; daughters, Karen (Matt) Petit of San Antonio, Fla., and Kathryn (David) Bowling of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Rachel Petit, Nicholas, Nathan and Hayden Bowling; sisters, Ginny (Bill) Goodwin of The Villages, and Margie Porter of Washington. She is preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Lehr. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, with visitation one hour prior.
