Tonight's opening round games in the North Daviess Class A Baseball Sectional and the Jasper Class 3A Baseball Sectional have been postponed by rain.
North Daviess officials have decided to begin the tournament on Friday afternoon, thought the schedule of games from Thursday will be switched as Loogootee High School holds its graduation Friday night. Thus, Friday at 1 p.m. North Daviess will take on Loogootee, with a contest between Barr-Reeve and Shoals to follow at 3 p.m. Semifinal play on Saturday as well as Monday's championship game will go on as scheduled.
At Jasper, play will begin on Friday with the same schedule as intended for Thursday, with the Washington Hatchets to face Jasper in the second game at 7:30 p.m. Semifinal games will be on Monday with the championship game set for Tuesday as Washington's graduation is slated for Saturday afternoon.
All of this planning is, of course, weather permitting on Friday and Saturday.
