Conference champion and Class A state runner-up Vincennes Rivet placed four players on the Blue Chip Conference girls all-conference team announced this week.
Rivet, which won the conference with a perfect 8-0 mark, had four players - Casandra Brocksmith, Chelsea Meeks, Erin Wehrheim, and Sara Young - named to the squad. Conference runner-up Barr-Reeve had two players, Hilliary Fox and Liz Horton, make the squad as did Loogootee. The Lady Lions finished in sixth place in league play with a 3-5 mark and placed Kelci Mann and Wynter Wagoner on the all-BCC team.
Others named to the team included Alyssa Elliott of Northeast Dubois; Danielle Turpin of Shoals; Andrea Scott and Samantha Scott of South Knox; and Whitney Malin of Wood Memorial.
Earning honorable mention recognition were Ashley Taylor of Shoals, Elizabeth Keller of Rivet, and Rachel Wichman of Washington Catholic.
Dubois finished third in league play with a 6-2 record, followed by Shoals and Wood Memorial, each at 4-4. Next was Loogootee, followed by North Knox and South Knox at 2-6 and Washington Catholic at 0-8.
Horton finished a close second to Meeks in scoring average for league games as Horton tallied 17.3 ppg in BCC contests compared to Meeks’ 17.9. Turpin, was third at 15.6 ppg.
