Coy to be remembered by East Tennessee State today

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn — Former Washington Hatchet standout and East Tennessee State University basketball player Seth Coy will be remembered by ETSU prior to homecoming and the Buccaneers season opener with Appalachian State at Memorial Center today.

Coy, a key member of the Hatchets’ 2008 Class 3A state championship team who played as a freshman for an East Tennessee squad that qualified for the 2009 NCAA tournament, was killed in a car accident while traveling home to Daviess County from ETSU this past summer. Game time today is 4 p.m., with a memorial service slated to honor Coy prior to the contest. Over 50 family and friends from Washington are expected to be in attendance for the game.
