Vikings scrap to win over Loogootee

MONTGOMERY — The No. 5 Barr-Reeve Vikings got an early season test from No. 13 Loogootee on Thursday in Montgomery and came away with the kind of win that helped both the Vikings and Lions realize where they are at this point in the young season.

The Vikes (4-0) picked up the 51-38 win and got a chance to work senior Liz Horton back in the lineup. Loogootee played well, showing the Vikings and everyone else that they will be a factor for area teams all year.
