B-R chops down Wood
OAKLAND CITY — The Barr-Reeve Lady Viking eighth grade team downed Wood Memorial, 49-14 on Thursday.
The Vikes were led by Jenna Knepp with 20 points, while Briona Miller added 15.Tracy Graber, Kayla Lengacher and Hope Alford added four each
while Natalie Walker had two.
B-R ends the regular season at 14-1 and will host Loogootee today in the opening round of the Blue Chip Conference tournament.
The seventh grade Lady Vikings also traveled to Wood Memorial, for their last regular-season game and posted a 29-22 win.
The Lady Vikings were led by Hannah Bullock with 14 points followed by Skylar Chestnut with nine points. Baleigh Miller, Melody Rohrer and Tiara Kenney all had two points each.
The seventh grade girls host their on tournament against N.E. Dubois at 1:30 today. The winner will play at 3 p.m. between the winner of the Washington vs Wood Memorial game.
No. USI stays perfect
EVANSVILLE — The No. 2-ranked University of Southern Indiana men’s basketball team
started homecoming week with a 59-44 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis Thursday evening in the Physical Activities Center. USI raised its perfect record to 20-0 overall and 11-0 in the GLVC.
Former Barr-Reeve Viking Nick Duncheon had seven points, two assists and a rebound in the game, while former Hatchet Isaac Stoll had two points and a board.
Washington 5th splits with South Knox
The Washington fifth and sixth grade girls travel team split with North Knox. The fifth graders lost 29-24, with Mattalyn Webb getting eight, Nedia Revolorio getting six and Callie Gray adding three. Also scoring was Kaitlyn Klingle, Mary Barnard and Mallory Hill, with two points each.
Washington won the sixth grade game, 31-13. Emily Mahan, Izzy Waggoner and Haven Lunsford had six points each. Josie Henson had four, while Taylor Killion, Lacey Himsel, Shalah Sama and Carrie Lane had two points each. Bailey Racey added a free throw.
B-R 5th wins at South Knox
Barr-Reeve fifth grade girls traveled to South Knox for the fifth grade South Knox Tourney and topped Washington with a 26-22 victory. Leading the way for Barr-Reeve was Emily Schultheis with 10 points, Hannah Graber had six points, four each for Peyton Lengacher and Macin Graber, while Leah Bullock also added a basket.
Washington received scoring from Mary Barnard with 10 points, four points from both Neida Revolorio and Callie Gray and two points each for Mattalyn Webb and Calie Garland.
Barr-Reeve now stands at 8-1.
