EASTERN — North Daviess hosted Eastern in the final regular season game for the Lady Cougars and Eastern defeated ND 42-23.
Eastern made a continual effort to keep the ball away from the Lady Cougars leading scorer Jenny Dove the entire game.
Dove was still able to net 10 points in the first half. However, Eastern really turned up the defensive pressure in the second half, limiting Dove to just two points in the half. The Cougars played well on the defensive end themselves holding Eastern to just 16 first-half points, but the Cougars just were not able to match Eastern on the offensive end.
Scoring for North Daviess in their final regular season home game were Dove 12 and Steph Summers with two.
“These two seniors have done a great job all year for their team and they are going to be greatly missed. I am extremely proud of how these girls have approached this year and the effort that they have given everyday. Congratulations seniors and thank you for always giving your very best,” said ND coach Ron Knepp.
Also scoring were Ashley Troutman with five, and Janae Wagler and Gracie Meyer with two each
