Willis, Chappell lead Indiana past Towson 51-17

Bloomington — Indiana's Darius Willis gave Indiana just the jolt it needed Thursday night.

Ben Chappell took advantage of Willis' help by picking apart the Towson secondary.

The sophomore running back scored two touchdowns and topped 100 yards while the senior quarterback threw two TD passes, leading the Hoosiers to a 51-17 rout in the season opener.

"Having Darius, that's huge because he runs the ball so hard, he doesn't usually go down on first contact and he gives us balance," Chappell said with a big grin. "When we have Darius running like that, it really helps the offense."

No doubt about it.

A year ago, injuries limited Willis to only six starts.
