Indiana township worker accused of stealing $150K

Washington Times-Herald

Bedford — Indiana authorities have charged a township employee with theft, saying she embezzled $150,000 over five years.

The Indianapolis Star says the Indiana State Board of Accounts investigated 39-year-old Shawswick Township Deputy Trustee April Eagon-Dorsett. Shawswick Township is in Lawrence County, about 65 miles south-southwest of Indianapolis.

Authorities say the 39-year-old Bedford resident wrote checks to herself and her husband Randy Dorsett in 2005-2010 for services they never provided.

A telephone message seeking comment was left for Eagon-Dorsett on Thursday evening.

She's charged with felony theft, which carries a prison term of up to eight years in prison.
