BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Social service agencies in Bloomington are predicting another busy year as the sluggish economy takes its toll on the poor.
The Community Kitchen of Monroe County expects that need will remain high in 2010. Executive Director Vicki Pierce says social service groups are trying to find ways to do more with less.
Perry Township Trustee Dan Combs is worried about having enough emergency assistance for all the people who need it. He says the recession has hit the area hard and he expects more people to seek help as they wait for a true economic recovery.
