Daniels appoints new general counsel

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Gov. Mitch Daniels has named one of top aides his new general counsel.

David Pippen will replace Mark Massa as the governor’s top attorney. Massa has resigned to run for Marion County prosecutor this year.

Massa has served as general counsel since January 2006.

Pippen has been Daniels’ senior policy director for energy, natural resources and the environment for the past two years. He was an attorney in private practice for 13 years before that.

Pippen’s new appointment is effective Monday.
