WASHINGTON —
Alaina Charlene Bartley of Petersburg and Tom Lewis Griggs of Owensboro, Ky., were united in marriage April 2 at Spring Mill Bible Camp in Mitchell.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, A. Dene Bartley. The ceremony was performed by the bridegroom’s father, Ralph Griggs. Readings throughout the ceremony were presented by Will Griggs, brother of the bridegroom, and Joshua Smith and Andy Vickery. The bride’s brother, Seth Bartley, led the songs.
The remembrance flowers were displayed in special honor of loved ones who shared this wedding celebration in the sanctity of Jesus. They are: Boyd and Martha Lisman, great-grandparents of the bride; Jack and Lois King and Alvin and Annamae Bartley, grandparents of the bride; Phillip Bartley, uncle of the bride; Robert Perry, grandfather of the bridegroom; Athiel and Dorothy Murphy, grandparents of the bridegroom, and Margaret Poole, a Griggs family friend.
The miniature bride was Haven Longest, niece of the bride, and the miniature bridegroom was Connor Hall, nephew of the bride. Flower girl was Lillian “Lilly” Hall and ring bearer was Matthew “Hewie” Howard, niece and nephew of the bride. Ushers for the ceremony were Daniel Griggs, brother of the bridegroom; Owen Longest, nephew of the bride; Curtis Howard and Jackson Howard, brother-in-law and nephew of the bride. Owen and Jackson also attended the bride with her wedding dress train as she walked down the aisle.
The wedding party attendants included the bride’s aunt Jackie King, Will Griggs, Candace Hall, sister of the bride; Zoe Sipes and Charity Howard, the bride’s sister. Courtney Froehle, sister of the bride, was the photographer and videographer was Andy Froehle, brother-in-law of the bride. Jerry Hall, brother-in-law of the bride, helped handle music.
A reception followed in the camp cafeteria.
The bride is the daughter of A. Dene and Lana Bartley of Petersburg. She is the volunteer coordinator for the Habitat For Humanity in Evansville. The bridegroom is the son of Ralph and Mary Griggs of Nashville, Tenn. He is a permanent substitute teacher at Apollo High School, Owensboro.
The Griggs reside in Owensboro and took a wedding trip to Savannah, Ga., following the wedding reception. Their address is 1720 Alexander Ave., Owensboro, KY, 42303.
