Joy Parker

CORBIN, Ky. — Joy Ann Parker of Jesson Street, Corbin, Ky., departed this life on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.

Born April 29, 1937, in Arab, Ala., to Tom Nelms and Kathryn Bailey Nelms, she was 75 years, 4 months and 15 days of age at her death.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Parker of Corbin; two daughters, Linda Hart and husband Dallas of Corbin and Tammy Moore of Washington; four sons, Randy Odell Moore and wife Debbie and Wesley Moore and wife Stacy, all of Washington, Terry Moore of Williamsburg, Ky., and Kevin Moore and wife Lisa of Lawrenceburg, Ill.; five stepchildren, Georginna Jackson, Bobbie Parker (Patsy), K.D. Parker (Judy), Curtis Parker (Evy) and Paula Parker Grubb (Rick), all of Corbin; 23 beloved grandchildren; 10 beloved great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Nelms (Cindy) and Roger Nelms (Martha), all of Lawrenceville, Ill., and Danny Nelms of Cincinnati, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.  

She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Shelley Moore Conley.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to her friends, neighbors, and the employees at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Sunday at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be at noon Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Brian Burkhead officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Slusher Cemetery in Rockholds, Ky.
