Dixie Burton

WASHINGTON — Dixie Lee Burton, 58, of Washington, died at 8:13 p.m. Monday at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. Born July 23, 1954, in Washington, she was the daughter of Hobert and Shirley (Summitt) Burton. A 1972 graduate of Washington High School, she had worked at Tokheim Inc. Manufacturing. She was a member of First Christian Church, Women of the Moose and the Eagles. She is survived by her mother, Shirley Summitt Burton of Washington; two nephews, Richie and wife Dawnetta Burton of Oakland City, and Chad and wife Sarah Burton of Linton; and several close family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Hobert Burton; two brothers, Randy Wayne and Robert Eugene Burton; and grandparents Rose and George Summitt. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gill Chapel, with Bro. Byron Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
