McDonald's to reopen on Wednesday

WASHINGTON — The McDonald’s restaurant located at 1450 E. Nat’l Hwy. will reopen its doors at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday with several contemporary changes designed to enhance the customer experience.

The Washington McDonald’s, operated by area business owner Wally and Deb Nowakowski, will host a grand opening celebration from Wednesday through Sept. 24 with special activities that will include: one free Big Mac every week for a year to the first 100 customers inside the store beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday.

Then throughout the day on Wednesday, McDonald’s will continue to give away free food.  At 5 p.m., the first 100 customers in drive-thru will receive a free soft drink every week for a year. Finally, at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, the first 100 customers inside the store will receive a free large premium roast coffee every week for a year.

On Sept. 24, customers can also register inside the lobby for Colts vs. Green Bay Packers tickets and various other prizes.

“McDonald’s is changing with the times to give our customers a dining experience that’s more inviting,” said McDonald’s owner/operator Wally Nowakowski. “We believe customers deserve freshly prepared, quality food served inside an environment that is modern, dynamic, enjoyable and comfortable.”

The new McDonald’s is a $3 million investment for the Washington community. Highlights of the redesigned restaurant include: a new exterior, landscaping that compliments the community and a double-lane drive-thru.

Inside, customers will enjoy comfortable lighting, contemporary color schemes that reflect the personality of the brand, along with new furniture with natural finishes. Technological enhancements include flat-screen TVs, digital menu boards and a new service system at the register.

The new McDonald’s has also increased its crew size by 50 percent. The drive-thru and lobby will now be open 24 hours.

In 2011, McDonald’s USA announced a $1 billion investment to redesign the majority of its 14,000 U.S. restaurants by 2015. Last year, McDonald’s and its franchisees remodeled 600 restaurants and rebuilt 200 nationwide. In 2012, McDonald’s plans to improve on that total, targeting 800 new remodels, 225 rebuilds and 175 new store openings — a 24 percent total increase in renovations over the previous year.

McDonald’s USA, LLC, is the leading foodservice provider in the United States, serving a variety of wholesome food made from quality ingredients to more than 26 million customers every day. Nearly 90 percent of McDonald’s 14,000 U.S. restaurants are independently owned and operated by local business men and women.

Customers can now log online for free at any of the more than 12,000 participating Wi-Fi enabled McDonald’s U.S. restaurants. For more information, visit www.mcdonalds.com, or follow McDonald’s on Twitter and Facebook for updates on our business, promotions and products.
