WASHINGTON — The Daviess County Rural Water System has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for those customers on U.S. 50W south of CR 450S, including Alexander Estates and Alexander Hill. Also those customers on 600S west of CR 100E.

Fall flushing has begun

Daviess County Rural Water Systems has started its fall flushing at Bussard Road and continuing south.

Low water pressure may be experienced while flushing in customers area.

After flushing, customers may also have discolored water for a short time. Call 254-4526 with any questions.

B-R discount cards being sold

Barr Reeve discount cards are available for half price until they are all sold. They are being sold for $4 and are still good through March 31, 2013.

There are deals and discounts for 21 local businesses on the cards. The cards may be purchased in the Barr-Reeve Middle/High School office or at Stop N Sea or Knepp’s Restaurant in Montgomery.

Harvest Fest at FBC

The First Baptist Church, 100 E. Walnut St., will hold its Harvest Fest from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday in the church parking lot. In case of rain it will be held in the church fellowship hall.

All children of the community up to the sixth grade are invited. There will be fun booths and free food.

Children may come in costume, but no devilish costumes.

Author coming to speak at WHS

Author Michael Koryta will be at the Washington High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. Saturday to discuss his book “So Cold the River.” Admission is free and open to the public. Use Gate 5. He will also sign books and they will be available for purchase.
