Girls basketball scrimmages start

Washington Times Herald

WASHINGTON — Girls high school basketball begins locally this evening as South Knox visits North Daviess for a 6 p.m. girls scrimmage.

That is just the first of several games, kicking off the new campaign.

Washington welcomes North Posey to the Hatchet House for a 6 p.m. game Friday. Barr-Reeve visits Clay City at 7 p.m. while Washington Catholic is at White River Valley, beginning at 6 p.m.

Loogootee had been scheduled to host South Spencer at 1 p.m. Saturday, but that game has been cancelled with the Lions playing that day in the Class A state volleyball championship at Ball State in Muncie.

Washington and Washington Catholic are the first area teams to play games that count.

The Hatchets welcome South Knox to the Hatchet House for a 6 p.m. junior varsity start Nov. 8. Washington Catholic and North Daviess play at North Daviess the same day at 6 p.m. as well.
