Lions Club soup supper Saturday

WASHINGTON — Wheatland Lions Club soup supper will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Small Town Crossing Building, 130 S. SR550, Wheatland. On the menu: chili or vegetable soup, dessert and drink. Freewill offering.

‘Parents Night Out’ on Feb. 4

Are you having trouble communicating with your kids? Is it always a battle to get them to bed or to clean their rooms?

Take time out of your busy schedule and invest some time in your family by learning some new communication and discipline techniques at the next “Parent’s Night Out” series sponsored by Purdue Extension with funding from the Daviess County Community Foundation.

Bryan Engleman, part-time counselor will be the instructor. Everyone is welcome - parents, grandparents, foster parents and other caregivers. Anyone who wants to invest time in improving their relationships with their children and others will find this program rewarding.

The series begins Feb. 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Washington Catholic High School Library in Washington. The program will last for three consecutive Monday nights.   • Lyons gets 65 years

    Dressed in a bright green jumpsuit and escorted by members of the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Corey Mitchell Lyons, 23, entered the court room, and sat hunched over a table with his family sitting behind. On the other side of the room sat family members of a baby who was life was taken to soon and the mother of Lyons’ child Savanna Johnson.
