Times Herald weighing options on Saturday delivery

WASHINGTON — The Washington Times Herald is weighing its options for home delivery of the newspaper, after the news Wednesday morning from U.S. Postal Service about stopping Saturday delivery.

The Times Herald is now published and delivered through the mail Tuesday through Saturday to homes and businesses.

Times Herald General Manager Melody Brunson said she intends to continue Saturday delivery of the newspaper as long as the Post Office allows. It seems uncertain if U.S. Congressional approval is needed for the Post Office’s most recent decision to cut costs. Pending the final outcome, Brunson said she will work for a solution to keep the newspaper as the most viable news source in the community.
