June Littell

WASHINGTON — Anita “June” Littell, 89, died at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Nursing Center. Born July 4, 1922, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Willard K. and Hattie S. (Bateman) Dillon. A 1940 graduate of Washington High School, she was an accomplished artist, operating her studio out of her home since 1960. Her paintings were displayed in the Riverwind Gallery in Newburgh. She is a member of First Christian Church and Daviess County Art League. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Taylor of Washington; a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Melanie Littell of Evansville; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, William B. Littell, whom she married June 14, 1941, died Jan. 13, 2004. Her parents; two daughters, Vicki Littell and Judy Sherman; and a brother, Wilbur Willard Dillon, are also deceased. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gill Chapel, with Bro. Steve Dayton officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
