Hope House open Saturday

Area Briefs

WASHINGTON — Hope House, 704 W. Van Trees St., will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday to give free food and clothing to anyone in need. Hope House is a ministry of Church on the Way.

Leaf  pick up moves to Area 2

The Street Department will move into Area 2 late today or Monday for leaf pick up. Area 2 is the west side of SR 57, north side of railroad tracks to Meridian, and all homes on the north side of Apraw Road. Call the Street Department with any question at 254-4564.

Fun run on Thanksgiving

There will be a 5-tur-K walk/run/meander/push a stroller/walk a dog at 9 a.m. Thursday starting at the north corner of 12th Street and Brett Cabel Road. There will be a $10 donation from each participant  and 100 percent of the proceeds help purchase Christmas gifts and clothes for children in conjunction with Jubilee Christmas. Walk-up registration. No prizes, no t-shirts, no water — just fun for a worthy cause. Call 254-6618 for more information.

Gospel music on Sunday

Full Gospel Chapel of Washington will hold its annual homecoming Sunday. The Whiteland Aires of the Indianapolis area will be performing gospel music. The service will begin at 10 a.m. Immediately following the service a carry-in lunch will be held in the fellowship hall. All are welcome to attend the service and the meal.

The Whiteland Aires have sung with other gospel groups, such as The Inspirations, The Cooks, The Freemans, The Perrys, The Crabb Family, Dottie Rambo, and many others. Their website is www.thewhitelandaires.com.

Full Gospel Chapel is located on SR 57S, across from Jones and Son’s Concrete.
