WASHINGTON — Irene L. Downs, 85, of Washington, died at 4:10 a.m. Monday at Washington Nursing Center.
Born April 22, 1927, in Winner, S.D., she ws the daughter of Matthew and Lena (Hien) Wolf.
She worked as a nursing aide in the health industry.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary (Tim) Williams of Plainville, and Sharon (Allen) Crouse; three sons, James (Coliene) Hauf, Mark (Sharon) Hauf, and Jim Pennick; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two sons, George and Carl Hauf, and a daughter, Ann Hauf.
Private services will be held at Gill Funeral Home, with Bro. Steve Dayton officiating. There will be no visitation.
